Finding a New Route
I run near the office most mornings, but I never have much time — no long detours, and definitely no room for exploring unfamiliar streets.
Today I passed the park I usually loop back from, but this time I just kept going straight through it.
I followed the road wherever it led.
I climbed a steep hill and found a course that continued down the other side.
By the time I was done, I’d covered 11km.
It turned out to be a solid route. And having a few different courses in rotation keeps things from ever feeling stale — you stop dreading the same old path.
I already mix things up around my neighborhood, but finding a brand new route near the office this morning made for a genuinely good start to the day.
I didn’t get any photos, but I passed some beautifully kept houses along the way.
It’s a different kind of scenery than what you get on trails or through the woods — and I like that contrast.
Next time I run this way, I’ll try to bring my camera and share some shots with you.
