meet at one point
We ran together again today.
Some ran 4km, some ran 8km, and one of us went all the way to 16km. Each at our own pace, each our own distance.
Running together is a strange thing, really. Even side by side, you’re still running with your own breath, your own legs, your own pace. No one can run it for you. The hard part is still yours to carry, alone.
And yet, running together changes something.
Sharing the same time, the same space. Knowing that someone else is out there trying too. That alone makes it different. Not everyone chooses this. There’s a certain feeling only the people who make time — early morning or late evening — to move their bodies come to understand.
The distances were all different. Someone stopped at 4km. Someone finished 8km. Someone kept going to 16.
But afterward, we all gathered in one place and lined up our shoes for a photo.
Different distances, same finish — brought back together at one point in time.
When the feet come together, that feels like the answer.
We weren’t alone.
